This paper first analyzes the necessity of library outsourcing of acquisition and cataloguing according to the development of information technology and the transformation of the library professional focus. Then it retrospects the process of library automatization based on the examples of Sun Yat - Sen University Libraries. In addition, the paper clarifies the rationality and the validity of library outsourcing of acquisition and cataloguing. Finally, the paper points out that library outsourcing of acquisition and cataloguing can bring out benefits to both sides, which indicates the coming pictures.
