立轴式大风车是我国古代一项杰出的发明，它有很多卧轴式风车无法比拟的优点，曾出现于中国天津及苏北地区，遗憾的是它现已几乎绝迹了．国内外许多学者都曾提及过，但却对其结构特点、工作原理、风帆张挂方式都没有详细研究，更没有作过受力分析．本文正是填补了这一空白，对其受力情况，动态性能、有效功率进行了分析和研究，对塘沽型及沟墩型两种大风车进行了比较．

Vertical-axle 'Great Windmill',which ever appeared in Tianjin and Subei,was an excellent invention of our ancient times. Compared with horizontal -axle windmill,it has many advantages.Regretfully,it has almost stamped out.Many scholars spoke of it,but didn't make detail research with it. This paper fills in this gap and makes detail research with its torque,power efficiency and moving performance. At the same time,this paper makes a comparison betweenb 'Tang - Gu Great Windmill' & 'Gou - Dun Great Windmill'.
