Review of ornamental plant germplasm resources and strategies for the germplasm research and construction of resource nursery in Guangdong

广东省热带亚热带观赏植物资源非常丰富。论述了观赏植物资源收集保存和研究利用的必要性,评述了广东观赏植物种质资源研究的进展,分析了资源工作基础差、投入少、流失较严重和没有建立种质利用和创新体系等存在问题;针对观赏植物种质资源特点,提出了加强研究和广东资源库建设的策略与思路。

There is an abundance of tropical and subtropical ornamental plant germplasm resources in Guangdong province. The paper emphasized the significance of collection, conservation, evaluation and utilization of the ornamental resources for Guangdong, reviewed the advancement in the research works of ornamental germplasm, and discussed the problems such as weak basis of the research, less investments, serious erosion of the germplasm and lack of the system for breeding and utilization. Based on the characteristics of the germplasm in Guangdong, some noval ideas have been suggested for the research in the future and construction of resource nursery of ornamental plants germplasm in Guangdong.
