Taiyuan, a city situated in Fen - Wei graben geothermal zone, is rich in geothermal resources. The article, based on some working experiences, has done some preliminary analyses on the distribution of hot mineral water, geothermal geology, heat- storage models and the situation and prospect of development and utilization of geothermal resources, which is a hydrogeolngical and scientific basis for a sustainable development and reasonable utilization of geothermal resources with fewer risks in Taiyuan
