Internet Communicating Behavior: A Comparative Study Basing on Different Stratums

通过对北京、上海、广州、南京和武汉五城市共3038个样本个体的抽样电话访谈以及对上述五城市以及深圳的100多位中产人士的个案访谈,发现人际交往与网络交往有着某种本质的不同。尽管社会阶层较高的社会群体上网的比例更高,但他们更为关注人际交往,而对于网络交往的态度却并不积极。原因是,他们认为网络交往无法带来更多社会资本。

Through research of 3038 samples of telephone investigation and interview ot more than one hundred middle class people in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, and Wuhuan, it is found that there are basically differences between interpersonal communication and internet communication. Although upper social stratum people occupy a higher proportion of accessing the net, they stress more emphasis on interpersonal communication. The reason is that they do not believe internet communication can bring them more social capital.
