In higher colleges, it is very essential to the college students to learn ideology and politics courses. Marxism - Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of ＂Three Represents＂ should be taught as the required courses in higher colleges. It is only the concrete embodiment of the Party＇s educational policy; it is the essential characteristic of the socialist university; and it is the basic assurance of the long - term development of the Party and our nation.
