To enhance the legal protection for softwares is one of the key issues which we should pay great attention to. This article, from the experience of practice of documentation and information service, expounds briefly the statutory extent of protection for softwares, the requisitions, the right of copyright owners, the possession and protective periods of copyright, the registration of softwares, the injuries to the copyright of softwares and legal liabilities and other legal issues in China.
