摘要
认知语言学主要从语言的角度研究人脑中的概念或根据语言分析推测思维中概念的内容。积极借鉴认知语言学的相关理论,使学生有意识关注语言结构的系统性、非任意性和理据对于促进英语教学和英语学习具有重要意义。
This paper is mainly intended to illustrate how cognitive linguistics applies to EFL teaching by examining such concepts as basic category, conceptual metaphor, experiential correlation, etc. This is followed by the suggestion that actively borrowing of theoretical insights in cognitive linguistics and bringing to the student's consciousness the systematicity, non-arbitrariness and motivations of linguistic structures will facilitate EFL teaching and learning.
