Taste to Arrange “Mathematics Appreciation” for Art Collegians

面向文科大学生开设“数学欣赏”选修课是为了加强他们的科学素养,提高其综合素质.教学体系宜采用松散的“选讲”,教学内容要突出数学创造的曲折艰辛,数学应用的伟大力量和数学学习的无穷乐趣,教学方法和手段要充分利用现代信息技术.文科学生需要对高等数学概貌的了解,“数学欣赏”应该在揭示数学的“真、善、美”方面发挥重要的作用,促进学生的身心全面发展.

To arrange the course ＂Mathematics Appreciation＂ for art collegians was to strengthen their science quality and improve their comprehensive qualities. Although ＂choosing to lecture＂ was properly adopted as the teaching system, the teaching contents should clearly show the hardship of the mathematics creation and also the great power of mathematics application and the unlimited fun of learning mathematics. The teaching methods and means should be adopted with modem information technology. Art collegians need to understand the general ideas of advanced mathematics. ＂Mathematics Appreciation＂ should show its function on exposing the ＂truth, kindness and beauty＂ of mathematics to lead collegians to develop fully and completely both in mental and psychological fields. According to students＇ desire for knowledge and their basic ability of mathematics, we would aim at keeping on adjusting teaching contents, controlling knowledge depth, encouraging research learning as well as thoughtful and logical methods in mathematics.
