On Equivalence in Translation

翻译等值是翻译研究的一个重要成果也是翻译理论的核心议题。本文拟从等值定义本身的模糊性、对等翻译的相对性等方面说明等值翻译论的局限性及其不足。

Equivalence is an important accomplishment in translation study and therefore has been a key issue in translation theories. As a long-standing criteria, it has played a positive role in judging translations. However, it is by no means perfect ,.This article attempt to show some limitations and shortages of equivalence from the perspective of the vagueness of it＇s definition and the relativity of equivalence.
