The Soviet confrontation with the capitalist world had deep historical roots. Ideologically,they were “natural foes.” To understand the reasons underlying the confrontation it is imperative, first of all, to understand the theoretical basis related to the CPSU. The Soviet-US scramble and standoff, concentrated in the ideological, geopolitical and arms race fields, ended up with Soviet fiasco, leaving behind very deep historical lessons and revelations.
