摘要 一、引言 随着激光技术的发展以及可调谐染料激光器的商品化,美国教授L·W·埃德森在79年底提出了一种产生极化负离子源的新的理论建议,即激光泵浦极化负离子源。理论计算表明这种新型的极化负离子源产生的离子流强度高达100微安以上, In this paper,an important application of dye laser in accelerator physics is introduced. Optically pumped polarized ion conrce involves polarizing the electron spin of sodium atoms in a high axial magnetic field by optical pumping with a dye laser turned to the wavclength of 5896 angstrom. Protons, at an onergy of approximately 5 keV, pick up with relatively large probability a polarized electron from the sodium atom to form an electron-spin polarized atomic hydrogen be am. The electronspin polarized atomic beam is transformed into a proton-spirt polari zed atomic beam by means of a Sona-type adiabatic field reversal technique. Then it picks up another electron from the second alkali vapor target to yield a protonspia polarized H-beam. The principles of optical pumping sodium atomic target, optically pumped polarized ion source, the measurement of the polarization of sodium vapor target and experimantao results, future plans are described simply.
