村民自治是改革由经济领域向政治领域延伸的结果,是当代中国农村政治生活中的一件大事,是我国政治体制改革的重要组成部分,关系到我国社会主义民主政治建设的进程。然而在实践中村民自治仍然面临着严峻的挑战,只有着眼于从根本上解决深层次的矛盾,才能促进村民自治的完善和发展。

The villagers＇ self-governance results from the reform which develops from economic field to political field. It＇s a great event in the country political life and the important part in the reform of political system, and it also concerns the democratic political construction of our country. However, we are now faced with some severe challenges. Only if we solve the basic problems, will the villagers＇ self-governance develop further.
