摘要
二○○八年第廿九届北京奥运会日渐临近,那个『行云流水、和谐生动、充满运动感』而被外国人称为『神结』的『中国结』已经成为连接四海的纽带了。
“Chinese Knots”are hundreds of designs of flowers,birds,fishes and insects woven with colored threads.“Knot”sounds the same as“luck”in Chinese and has the implications of“combination,friendship,marriage, unity and result”Therefore,“Chinese knots”are looked at as the signs of power,harmony,union,intimacy,warmth,luck and happiness. “Chinese Knots”,originated from the remote ancient times,became popu- lar in the Tang and Song Dynasties and prosperous in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.They have not only existed in the Chinese civilization for over 5000 years but also deposited the purest cultural essence of the Chi- nese nation.
