Gender Problem on the Internet

互联网虽然是一个全新的电子空间,但它仍然是现实空间的延伸。它只是从技术层面给我们提供了一个新的生存空间,并不能根本改变我们的社会性别结构和社会性别关系。由于现实社会中存在着根深蒂固的性别不平等关系,使得互联网在很大程度上也具有鲜明的性别特征,现实世界中的两性关系和两性交往模式不可避免地要反映在网络空间,女性的弱势地位在网络空间会延续而不是消亡。

Even though intemet is a brand- new electronic space, it is the extension of reality. Providing technically the human beings with a new existent space, it never changes the fundamental gender structure nor gender relationship. The rooted gender inequality in reality makes the intemet particularly gendered. The relationship and the interaction of man and woman in reality are unavoidably reflected on the intemet. Women＇ s rnarginalized position, instead of being eliminated, outspreads into the cyberspace.
