摘要
由于电力线介质条件恶劣,物理信道传输不稳定,PLCMAC协议的设计较为困难。本文首先介绍了PLC家庭网络的拓扑结构和多媒体业务的QoS要求,然后分析和比较了各类MAC协议对PLC家庭网络的适用性和QoS保证能力,并对有竞争与无竞争的PLCMAC协议研究的最新成果及其采用的QoS保证机制进行了分析。本文认为有竞争与无竞争方式相结合的混合型MAC协议是最适合PLC家庭网络的MAC协议。
Power line communication is an excellent candidate for home network. The rapid growth of AV application in home network brings with itself a new and more stringent set of QoS requirements. MAC protocol is a critical issue for efficient network resources utilization and QoS guarantee. Harsh medium environment and unstable PHY layer transmission make PLC MAC layer implementation very difficult. In this paper, we first illustrate the topology and QoS requirements of PLC home network, then analyze and compare the feasibility and QoS performance of different kind of MAC protocols in PLC home network. Recent achievements of PLC MAC layer protocol study and their QoS mechanisms are also digested. In the conclusion, it is pointed out that contention/contention-free hybrid MAC layer protocol is most suitable for PLC home network.
