摘要 冲到纳斯达克,是国内多少企业家的梦想:宁作鸡头不作凤尾,是创业者们自我激励的名言,是什么力量让虞锋停下了脚步? On 9th Jan., Focus Media Holding (Nasdaq: FMCN), the largest out-of-home audiovisual advertising company in China, announced a merger with its biggest competitor, Target Media, for US$325 million. This merger is the biggest one in China's advertising industry. Collectively they controlled above 90% share in the China market. Caused by the scarceness of buildings, these two companies have encountered the bottleneck after three years' high-speed growth. Especially in the last year, their competition went into brutal price-wars. And the increasing cost hurt both parties very much. This is the precondition for the merger. Even so, this is a hard decision for David Yu, Target's founder, to merge his company to the stronger competitor. Bringing its company to Nasdaq is the dream of any entrepreneurs. But why Yu finally quitted IPO and chose to be merged? What are the forces driving Yu's choice?
