Primary Changes in Modern English Vocabulary

二战以来,随着英语国家在政治、经济、科技、文化、生活诸领域的迅猛发展,现代英语自身发生了巨大的变化。这种变化主要体现在语法和词汇两个层面上,而词汇层面上的变化尤为突出。本文从新词、旧词衍生新义和借词三个层次探讨了现代英语词汇的主要变化。

Since the Second World War, the English-speaking countries have experenced great changes in politics, economy, culture, education and other fields. Consequently, modem English has changed a lot, especially its vocabulary. This paper attempts to discuss the primary changes in its vocabulary in terms of the created words, changes of meaning and loan words.
