On the Theory of Tragic Endings in Western Dramas

对西方悲剧理论进行研究,梳理西方悲剧性结局理论形态形成、发展、演变的脉络,并提出西方悲剧性结局经过演变逐渐确定为三种主要形态,即“由逆转顺”型单一结局,“善无善报、恶有惩罚”型结局,“善与善对立、善无善果”型双重结局。

By analysing the theory of western tragedies and the formation and the development of the theory of tragic endings, the article clarifies that there are three types of tragic endings in western dramas, namely, an adversity is converted into favourable circumstances; good is not rewarded, but evil is punished; and good deeds are against each other and one good turn fails to deserve another.
