Membrane technique is a kind of low energy consumption, easy operation, and highly efficient separation technique, which is more and more used in the papermaking effluent treatment. But the membrane fouling is still a problem to solve, which limits the application of membrane technique. This article discusses the mechanism of membrane fouling, and introduces some methods to prevent or reduce the membrane fouling.
