On the Basic Principle of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language

对外汉语教学原则是在教学实践的基础上,根据对汉语的规律、汉语学习的规律及教学规律的认识而制定的指导整个教学过程和全部教学活动的原则。只有清楚地认识其基本原则,才能有效地进行对外汉语教学。

The principle of teaching Chinese as a foreign language is made on the basis of its teaching objects and teaching practice. It is worked out according to the rules of Chinese language, law of learning and teaching Chinese and the understanding of the teaching laws. This principle is a guidance for the whole teaching process and all teaching activities. We can teach Chinese as a foreign language effectively only when we understand the basic teaching principle clearly.
