China is rich in hydropower resources that play an important position in the energy balance and sustainable energy development. According to the National Hydropower Resource Re-survey Results （in 2003）, our country＇ s total hydropower resources amount and its theoretical potential amount, technical exploitable amount and economical exploitable amount all ranks the first in the world. To develop and utilize the rich hydropower resources and quicken the development pace of hydropower is an important measure to meet our country＇ s hydropower increasingly demand and to realize the sustainable development.
