摘要
Huang Shaoji (1854-1907), native of Rui’an of Zhejiang Province. He was a successful candidate in the highest imperial examination at the sixth year of Emperor Guang Xu and served as an official at the imperial academy, superintendent of the Grand School of the Capital and an official of education in Hubei. He wrote such works as "History of China’s Education", "Notes to the Articles of the Book of Han". This article introduces 17 letters written by Huang Shaoji to his father Huang Tifang collected by the Wenzhou City Museum. These letters were not collected in the "Collected Works of Huang Shaoji" and the "Collected Works of Huang Tifang". The letters were written in the latter period of Sino-French War. The letters provide useful historical materials for studying the history of these years.
