Emergence of Prose-Style Fu in the Middle and Late Tang

文赋的产生和古文运动密切相关,古文家们的创作理论如句式取其自然、好用议论、注重借鉴秦汉文章等正是文赋产生的理论基石,而当时文坛上破体为文的创作风气以及律赋、咏史怀古诗、陆贽骈文的盛行等,也从实践的方面刺激了文赋的产生。

The emergence of prose-style fu is closely connected with the ancient prose movement. The creation theories of ancient prose writers are its theoretical basis, such as natural syntax, fondness of comment, emphasis on use of Qin and Han writings for reference, while the common practice of changing fu to prose style and the prevalence of other writing styles stimulate the emergence of prose-style fu.
