Origin of Sustainable Development and Scientific View of Development

可持续发展是本世纪下半叶以来人类对人与自然、社会关系的正反历史经验的总结,是人类对人口、资源、环境与发展之间的辩证关系深化认识的结果。本文力图从多个角度和层面探究可持续发展思想的渊源,阐明可持续发展思想的确立是人类在长期对人与自然关系的反思和总结基础上的必然选择。在此基础上,科学发展观应运而生,这是中国在发展观上的一大贡献。

Sustainable development originated from the reflections on positive and negative experiences in the relationship between man, nature and society since the late twentieth century, and it grew out of correct understanding of the dialectical relations between population, resources, environment and development. This paper attempts to explore the origin of sustainable development from various angles, and explain that sustainable development is the inevitable choice. From sustainable development arises scientific view of development, which will prove to be China＇ s major contribution to the theory of development.
