The effect of acnpuncture on the morphology, hemodynam-
ics and perivascular status of nailfold microcirculation in patiants with-secondary hyperten-sion was observed using the multiple quantitative evaluation method of nailfoldmicrocirculation in this experiment and the machanism of the treatment of hypertension with acupuncture was discussed. The results in this paper showed that the nailfold microcirculation in the Fpatiants with the secondary hypertension was intermediately abnormal (Multiple Quantitative Scores>4), and that the nailfold microcirculation was improved significantly while the blood pressure was depressed after puncturing. The results suggested that the machanism of acupuncture lowering the blood pressure have relation to the decrease of peripheral resistance caused by the improvement of the abnormal microcirculation.
