After the 1980s, IR scholars began to be concerned about the issue of environmental security, and over time their understanding gradually became more and more comprehensive. Against this backdrop, feminist scholars analyzed traditional security concepts and environmental security theories and practices, revealing the shortcomings of the lack of gender therein and revealing the root of the dualism embedded in Western political thought. The author points out that by analyzing gender issues in traditional security fields, feminists have put forward their own plan for environmental security from a comprehensive perspective that presents an ideal international environmental security.
