Facing the practical demand of sptial extension, how to control and guide the development of urban space becomes an important question. This thesis analyzes the mechanisms of spatial extension, benefit and cost, concentration and diffusion, drive and restriction, and gives a preliminary discussion on the measures in the phase of urban master planning.
