The paper describes the sucesses achieved in market-oriented railways during the Eighth Five-Year Plan period as follows: making a breakthrough in reform target; striding forward toward mechanism transforming of transport enterprise; having a new development in market-oriented concrete form and achieving obvious results in social collecting funds. The paper introduces some new breakthroughs in market-oriented railway's key points during the Ninth Five-Year Plan period.
