Synthesis of 4′-alkyloxybiphenyl ethers

摘要 报道了以4,4′-二羟基联苯为起始物合成一系列4′-烷氧基联苯醚化合物的方法,在液-液及固-液相转移催化下合成4′-烷氧基-4-羟基联苯的相应的醚.并考察了合成反应诸因素对产率的影响. The etherification of a series of 4'-alkyloxy-4-hydroxybiphenyls by phase transfer catalysis and the effects of reaction condition, including solvent,catalyst and temperature, were investigated. The experimental results showed that chlorobenzene, polyethylene glycol,tetraethylammonium bromide or tetrabutylammonium bromide are suitable solvent, solid-liquid phase transfer catalyst and liquid-liquid phase transfer catalyst, respectively. It was found that the yield of etherfication increased when dimethylaminophridine was added to reaction system as a catalyst. Only 4'-octaoxy-4-ethoxyhydroxy biphenyl shows liquid cryslline behaviour.
