In Bouyei ethnic minority group's funeral, there is a very common convention of "avoiding meat". That is the host (including the member of the same clan) must avoid eating meat-three or five days, when the host' father or mother is dead. As the time limit is end, the host will pray "Mogong" (Bouyei ethnic minority group's koradji) to release from taboo. Just when the "Mogong" has sung the "tune of releasing from dietetic taboo", the host and the member of the host' clan can eat meat. The convention of "avoiding meat" belongs to the one of the dietetic taboos. It reflects the archaic phenomenon that human eat human and strengthens the mode to exchange food. Today, Bouyei ethnic minority group's convention of "avoiding meat" strengthens more moral feelings--to recall and yearn to dead parent, to express offspring' filial piety and make the alive later generations can continue their life.
