This essay illustrates the patriarchal ideology in King Lear through the analysis of the hero and heroines＇ psychological characteristics. Shakespeare in this great tragedy presents a patriarchal world, portraying women＇s desire as sources Of social evils, revealing the fundamental confrontation and conflict on power between men and women.
