Imagery and discourse are the essential elements of literature. The uncertainty of meaning in text is originated from vagueness, multiformity and concealment of imagery. They all induce the strangeness of arts, and indicate the loss of privileged discourse of author as well as the exposing of writing technique. Therefore, a new relationship among figures, author and readers are setting up. A new balance has been built between discourse and text history. These features in Thomas Pychon＇ s novel of Ⅴ stand for the rising trends.
