This paper presents an algebraic decoding algorithm to correct burst error in binary BCH code and deduces the equations as well as solutions. This algorithm for BCH(31,21 ) burst and the known algorithm for BCH(31, 21) random, combined with the methods of vector and look-up table, can avoid the operation of multiplication in normal algorithm and can be fast realized by means of software. This approach can be applied in pager with better error performance.
