This paper briefly reviewed the usual techniques related to speciation analysis of trace element in Traditional Chinese Medicine, including supereritical fluid extraction, microwave assisted extraction, ultrafiltration, atomic absorption spectrometry, ICP-AES, ICP-MS, and so on. The emphasis was made on the application of hyphenated techniques in this field. The prospect and problems of speciation analysis of trace element in Traditional Chinese Medicine were also discussed.
