《黄色墙纸》是女性批评家重新发掘的最著名的女性主义文本之一。尽管小说多角度地展现了叙事者在男权社会背景下所忍受的压迫以及她对男权权威的反抗,但其最终目的并不在于唤起读者对叙事者产生的同情和怜悯,而在于使读者深刻地感受到叙事者不挠的精神。
The Yellow Wallpaper is one of the most distinguished feminist texts excavated by feminist critics. Though the story has well presented the persecution the narrator suffers and the rebellious actions she takes in the patriarchal society, its focus lies more in the narrator＇ s unquenchable spirit than in the sympathy aroused among the readers.
