The Development and Enlightenment of Gandongbei's Commodity Economy in Ming and Qing Dynasties

自宋代以来,赣东北商品经济发展迅速,至明清已成为江西的富饶之地。赣东北商品经济的发展主要得力于这个地区水路的发达、物产的丰富、农产品的充沛和较浓的从商行贾之风,成为江西经济发达地区之一,对江西经济的发展起到了重要支撑作用,并推动了江西手工业的兴盛和农村经济的发展,有着突出的历史地位,它的兴衰也给后人留下了值得借鉴的深刻启示。

Since Song Dynasty, the commodity economy of Gandongbei （Northeast area of Jiangxi province）, has developed very quickly. Till Ming and Qing Dynasties, Gandongbei has become a prosperous area of Jiangxi Province. The development of Gandongbei＇s commodity economy is mainly benefited from the developed water routes in tiffs area, plentiful produets, ample produces and a prevalent atmosphere of business- ertgaging. As Gandongbei became one of the developed economic areas, it greaflysupported the economic development of Jiangxi to a great extent and strongly promoted the prosperity of Jiangxi＇ s handicraft industry and the economic development of countrysides. Thus, it has an outstanding historic position and its rise and fall leave a profound enlightenment to later generations.
