TCM holds that depression is, in most cases, resulted from injuries of the seven emotions and/or from stagnation of qi. Since 1995, we have treated 84 cases of senile depression with the prescription of Shugan Jieyu Yin (舒肝解郁饮 Decoction for Relieving the Depressed Liver), and obtained satisfactory therapeutic results.
