The performances of different impact media were compared. The results show that the glass bead is the best choice of impact media for mechanical plating. The quality requirements of glass beads in mechanical plating were analyzed, including circle forming ratio, surface roughness and wear resistance. The notices about the glass bead used in mechanical plating were summarized, such as avoiding the pollution of glass beads, choosing proper mixed glass beads and addition.
