The famous English philosopher Russell participated in the heated discussion on the topic "history is a science or an art" in the 1950s. During the process of discussion, Russell put forward some important viewpoints about the service object, the academic approach and the limitation of history, which indicated the fact that historiography should be aesthetic. The severe fault of contemporary historiography in the construction of modality and the acquirement of production is that history authors cannot let the readers get into the aesthetic circumstance effectively, i.e. readers cannot achieve the joy of "the substantial power of intuition" by reading works on history.
