Hybridism and the Dilemma in Cultural Decolonisation

文化非殖民化是第三世界国家在独立后开展的非殖民化运动的一部分,因与前殖民地人民能否摆脱长期的殖民文化影响、建构新的民族文化身份密切相关而备受学界关注。在讨论如何进行文化非殖民化时颇受一部分知识分子青睐的杂交主义思想,并非如西方主流社会的某些后殖民理论家所预言的那样,为殖民地人民提供了颠覆殖民文化的空间,而是从语言和文化两个层面揭示了后殖民国家的文化两难处境。

Cultural decolonization is an integral part of the decolonization movement held by the Third World after independence. Whether the colonized can get rid of the colonial influence and successfully construct a new national identity depends on the extent of cultural decolonization. However, the debate between national- ists and proponents of hybridism shows that postcolonial countries are in a position of cultural dilemma.
