On the Return of poetic style in Late-Tang Dynsty to southern Dynasties

晚唐诗风日趋绮靡,逐渐回归于南朝文风。其原因在于:首先是由于北方士族的衰落和科举的繁荣;其次是南方经济文化的影响;另外,晚唐士人的末世情结也是绮靡文风形成的重要原因。

The poetic style in Late- Tang Dynasty became more and more omate, and seemed to return to southern Dynasies.There were reasons for this tendency. First, Northern Intelligentsia decclined and the imperial examinations wrer put into practice. Second, southern economy and culture had an influence. Third, a feeling of ＂end of the century＂among the Late- Tangian was also an important factor.
