Chinese is an important course in the basic education stage. This paper explores the orientation of Chinese in the vocational higher education institutions, thinking that the teaching of Chinese in the vocational higher education institutions should be focused on the training of application ability of Chinese and pay attention to the special needs of some specialties besides the basic ability of Chinese.
