In this paper, we analyze the deficiency of the traditional data storage system and introduce the characteristics and the implementation scheme of the SAN storage technology. Through the practical applications, we give the key factors, which must be considered in the design and implementation of the SAN storage, and discuss the development trend in the implementation of the SAN storage for the data storage system of the digital libraries.
