摘要 康拉德在《黑暗的心脏》的写作中遇到用语言表达缺失的意义这一难题,他又用非常复杂的叙事技巧让这一难题得以解决。通过这些叙事手法,康拉德在该作品中暗示了他的语言观:语言作为交流的媒介很不完美,但却是人类必不可少的工具。分析康拉德对该作品文本的处理及其所采取的叙述策略,探讨《黑暗的心脏》文本中的语言难题以及康拉德所采用的解决方法。 Joseph Conrad＇s work Heart of Darkness reveals the difficulty in expressing, in language, what is not presented within language, He uses complicated narrative devices to indicate his idea on human language： language is not perfect and can＇ t approach the truth, whereas it has to be used as man＇ s media of communication, for there is no other alternative. This thesis is an analysis of the narrative devices in Heart of Darkness and a confirmation of Conrad＇ s idea of human language.
