Sexual Difference in Pathological Internet Use among College Students

目的了解高校上网大学生中病理性互联网使用(Pathological Internet use,简称PIU)的患病率及其影响因素,为预防和控制大学生PIU的发生提供理论依据。方法采用整群分层随机抽样方法,随机抽取4所高校20个班级,对所选班级的所有上网大学生采用现场无记名填写问卷的方法进行调查。结果男生的PIU患病率为21.20%,女生的PIU患病率为7.59%,男性PIU患病率高于女性。男性PIU患者的网龄、每周上网时间、每周上网费用均高于女性;男性PIU患者主要使用游戏、色情,更倾向于交友,更喜欢网络的虚拟性;女性PIU患者主要使用聊天。结论上网大学生PIU的患病率高,与多种因素有关,应从多方面进行针对性防治。

Objective To investigate the prevalence and relevant factors on the pathological Internet use （PIU）. Method A stratified-random sampling study was conducted among the college students. Results The prevalence of PIU was 14.2% in 1040 college students, and that of male and female is 21.20% and 7.59%, respectively. The length of time using Internet, using Internet hours per week, using internet cost per week of male were higher than that of female; males mainly used to play games and eroticism, and were tendency to make friends and like the fictitiousness of net; females mainly liked to chat online. Conclusion These results implied that a comprehensive intervention should be taken in the prevention of PIU.
