析《左传》英译的失与误

Preliminary Rearch into the Losses and Errors in the English Translation of Zuozhuan

通过对理雅各和胡志挥的《左传》两英译本的比较,分析了由于判断错误引起的错译、因词汇空缺导致的欠额翻译、文化对比所引起的结构差异以及由于译者的疏忽而致的错译和漏译。

Through the comparison of two different versions of Zuozhuang by James Legge and Hu Zhihuang respectively, the thesis focuses on problems of mistranslation resulted from misjudgements, undertranlation from lexical gap existing in different languages, structural differences from the cultural contrast and mistranslation caused by translators＇ oversight.
