摘要
在相干光通信、半导体激光放大器及某些偏振态调制光纤传感器中要求输入光偏振态稳定。文章分析了单模光纤受外应力作用所产生的应力双折射效应,并研究了采用四个光纤挤压器组成的无端偏振控制系统。实验结果表明,该系统单步响应时间约4ms,插入损耗0.8dB,输出偏振态波动不大于5°。
It's required to keep the polarization stable in coherent optical communication,semiconductor laser amplifier and some fiber sensor by polarization modulation.In this paper,birefringent effect in monomode fiber generated by external stress was analyzed,and a kind of endless polarization control system composed of four fiber squeezers was investigated.Experimental results show that the system step response time is about 4 ms,insertion loss is 0.8 dB,output polarization fluctuation is not more than 5°.
