人弓蛔虫病遍及全球，由犬蛔虫，犬弓蛔虫或猫蛔虫，猫弓蛔虫的幼虫感染所致。人类是弓蛔虫的偶然宿主（图1），在人类宿主中弓蛔虫不能进一步发育，不会达到成熟期。感染表现为2个主要的综合征——内脏幼虫移行症和眼幼虫移行症。
Human toxocariasis occurs worldwide and results from infection with larvae of the dog roundworm, Toxocara canis, or the cat roundworm, T. cati. Humans are accidental hosts for Toxocara （Figure 1）, which cannot develop further and does not reach maturity in human hosts. The infection manifests as two principal syndromes - visceral larva migrans and ocular larva migrans.
