On the basis of discussing features of expert system and development present situation of earth science, with the thoughts and consciousness going beyond the century, the authors consider that, in order to meet new techology revolution, expert system as intelligencezational road of earth science must take earth sciences into a new developing stage and make it get rid of the 'all time low trough'.
